The Port of Baybay City

For first time visitors in Baybay City, Leyte, you should not worry as the Port of Baybay City is very close to the city proper. The commercial establishments and restaurants can be reached even by walking. In 10 minutes, you are already in the city proper.

However, you can take the padyak in roaming around the city of Baybay.

Minivans are parked in the terminal just near the Port in Baybay City which ferries you to the other towns in Leyte.

Vans going South like Hindang, Hilongos, Bato, and Maasin can be found at the terminal. There are also vans headed up north to Ormoc City and going eastward to Tacloban City.


Getting there and around

By Boat

Roble Shipping is one of the popular shipping lines from the Province of Cebu going to the Province of Leyte. The boat docks at the Port in Baybay City. The boat trip from Pier 3, Cebu to Baybay City Port takes 5-6 hours. Fare starts at about Php 300.

Hindang town is about 15 minutes by van from Hilongos town.

Tricycle / Padyak

The most popular mode of transport while roaming around the city of Baybay is padyak or a three-wheeled bicycle. It takes you to the restaurants, shops, and commercial establishments in the area.

Jollibee has already opened a branch in Baybay. There is also Mang Inasal food chain on the ground floor of Prince Supermarket.
